AstraZeneca's vision in Oncology is to redefine the cancer-treatment landscape by offering an extensive pipeline of next-generation medications primarily targeting six main tumor areas: breast, ovarian, lung, gynecology, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, and hematological cancers. These areas, along with other tumor types, are being addressed through five key platforms: immunotherapy, the genetic drivers of cancer and resistance, DNA damage repair, and antibody drug conjugates supported by personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies.

As the Associate Director of Regional Marketing (ADRM) for GI Oncology, you will leverage your clinical diagnostic expertise to make a significant impact on patient care with a leading pharmaceutical company.

The ADRM is responsible for crafting and executing Regional Marketing Plans that align with the strategic objectives of the brand strategy plans to drive local brand commercial success. Collaborating with Oncology Business Managers and National Oncology Account Directors, the ADRM plays a crucial role in guiding geography planning and acting as a bridge between the headquarters marketing team and the specific needs at the geography.

The ADRM delivers timely and actionable on-label customer insights that inform real-time commercialization strategies and provide strategic insights supported by relevant data to facilitate annual brand planning at the regional level. This position involves developing customized initiatives that educate in compliance with local market opportunities outlined in the regional business plan. Moreover, the ADRM identifies and engages with regional customers on suitable, on-label or disease education topics, integrating their feedback to establish market leadership and achieve commercial goals while consistently upholding ethical business decisions and actions. The Associate Director of Regional Marketing possesses a solid marketing background enabling them to independently create proposed marketing plans for field and internal brand teams.

This role is field-based and supports the Oncology teams in Northern CA, WA, OR, Northern Nevada, ID, AK, WY, and MT. Candidates must reside in the designated territory.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Regional Marketing: Develop, design, and implement Regional Marketing Plans that align with brand strategy plan objectives and influence local brand support. Utilize insights from external thought leaders to bolster market leadership and achieve commercial objectives.
  • Enhanced Customer Engagement: Identify and engage a core group of 35-50 National and Regional ESEs, leveraging advanced scientific, communication, and business skills to drive brand advocacy.
  • Insights Generation: Generate timely and practical customer insights to guide Brand strategic decision-making and make necessary marketing adjustments through interactions such as 1:1s, congresses, consultancies, and advisory board meetings.
  • Business Ethics and Skill: Lead multiple program budgets, timelines, processes, and procedures in compliance with regulations.
  • Internal Partnership: Collaborate with field sales leadership and Brand Teams to devise and implement local regional strategies and tactics based on identified market opportunities.
  • Exemplify AZ values by consistently adhering to ethical standards and compliance expectations.
  • Be prepared for 50-70% overnight travel, including evening and weekend conferences as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry experience
  • 3+ years of Oncology Experience
  • Marketing Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • 3+ years HCP, Product, or Brand marketing experience
