Overview

Works under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager. Lifeguards are responsible for general supervision, safety, maintenance and excellent customer service.

What you will do

  • Has a neat professional appearance, with rescue tube properly placed, while maintaining proper surveillance of patrons and guests. Greets members and guest when entering the pool area with a nod of acknowledgement when possible, using names when appropriate.
  • Works assigned shifts, or finds an appropriate substitute following all proper procedures and documentation.
  • Supervises and controls all activity in the pool area and on the patio so that a safe environment is maintained.
  • Responsible for monitoring and appropriately recording water quality, temperature and appropriate fill levels in pool and whirlpool.
  • Maintains clean environment, proper equipment storage and completes scheduled shift duties. Ensures the pool is prepared in a timely manner prior to the start of scheduled activities.

Qualifications:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED, (preferred)
Experience

  • 1 year Lifeguard experience (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications

  • Lifeguard
  • American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire(required)


 First Aid
  • American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(required)
  • Certified Auto External Defibrillator (AED)
  • American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(required)
