The Role:

A proficient backend engineer with expertise in Middleware Integration and JAVA is sought to join our software development crew as a pivotal contributor.

As a Tech Lead, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and maintenance of our conversation AI building blocks, emphasizing microservices architecture.

Your proficiency in product development and comprehension of SaaS principles will be crucial in shaping novel solutions and elevating our current offerings.

This position is based at our Palo Alto office.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, construct, and scale resilient backend applications using JAVA and/or Python on Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Collaborate with various teams like Frontend Developers, Product Managers, and DevOps Engineers to furnish top-notch software solutions.
  • Implement microservices architecture to assure modularity, manageability, and scalability of our applications.
  • Engage across the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to testing and deployment.
  • Enhance backend performance for seamless user experience and application responsiveness.
  • Resolve intricate technical issues promptly in production settings.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and uphold code quality.

Stay abreast of the latest backend development trends and innovations, scouting for opportunities to integrate new technologies into our products.

Basic Qualifications:

Essential background as a Server-side Developer, proficient in JAVA and its ecosystem for web application and services development.

Knowledge of REST/gRPC, Kubernetes, GraphQL, AWS, Azure, Grafana, Kibana, Elastic, Airflow is preferred.

Profound insight and hands-on involvement in microservices architecture and its concepts.

Previous engagement in product development, showcasing a track record of delivering premium software solutions.

Understanding of SaaS principles and experience in creating SaaS-based applications is advantageous.

Competency in database design and integration, encompassing SQL and NoSQL databases.

Sound grasp of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.

Familiarity with version control systems like Git and collaborative development workflows.

Experience with distributed systems and managing extensive datasets is highly favorable.

Proficient problem-solving skills and adeptness at working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with over 8 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Past involvement in startup environments, demonstrating flexibility, proactiveness, and a penchant for innovation.

Enterprise SaaS/AI&ML background.
