AMHERST PLEASE SEE WEBSITE FOR FULL JOB DESCRIPTION Senior Director ofHuman Resources The senior director of human resources providesleadership and overall strategic direction in all areas related to humanresources functions to include the effective utilization and support ofcollege employees.
The senior director will work with the administrationincluding the president and senior administrators, school deans,faculty, and staff to seek advice and to build support for changes inand enhancements to existing human resource programs and practices.
Thesenior director will consult with senior management to develop and aligncomprehensive human resources with the mission and values of HampshireCollege and will consult with members of the community in all areas ofhuman resources management including effective workforce staffing,employee relations, benefits administration, fiscal accountability, andquality improvement.
The senior director will provide leadership infacilitating communication, decision-making, trust, employeeprofessional development, and employee relations; all toward enhancingthe overall effectiveness of the College.
The senior director willprovide leadership as the College increasingly seeks to promoteinclusion, equity and diversity within our community coordinating withthe senior vice president of justice, equity, and anti-racism on tasks,initiatives, and goals.
The senior director will ensure that HampshireCollege complies with all state and federal laws in areas such asemployment, labor relations, and benefits.
The senior director acts asdeputy director of the campus Title IX program and the ADA coordinatorfor employees.The senior director of human resources is a senior memberof the finance & administration division, and plays a critical role insupporting the division, and the College, in communications andleadership.
In this capacity, the senior director may, from time-to-timeattend Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings, should, when necessary,present updates to SLT about the status of major projects andinitiatives in human resources, and should be consulted on campus widecommunications that impact employee compensation, retention, benefitsand other human resource issues.
As a member of both the HR team and thedivision of finance and administration, this position is essential toemployee and community service and experience.
The incumbent must feelcomfortable working in an often fast-paced organizational framework withshifting and evolving responsibilities.This position collaborates withother HR staff, and a variety of other college offices to meet thedepartment goals, and further the mission of the department and theCollege.
This position participates as a committed member and leader ofthe human resources team in college and division committee work,projects, meetings, events, and overall community development.
Availability to work occasional nights and weekends may be required.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor\'s degree in HumanResources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master\'sdegree preferred. Minimum five years of human resource managementexperience required.

Demonstrated ability to work andcommunicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse communityStrong leadership and management skills Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills Experience with automated management informationsystems Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Thoroughknowledge of relevant federal, state and local government regulationsand equal opportunity policies are required Excellent time managementskills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or relatedsoftware Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn theorganization\'s HRIS and alent management systems.
