Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced oncology medical biller. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overturning denied claims and collecting aged claims accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial insurance billing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize OncoEMR and Unlimited Financials for follow-up and resolution of outstanding claims.
  • Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to ensure proper payment and identify any discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to resolve billing issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations and insurance requirements.
  • Prepare and submit appeals for denied or underpaid claims.
  • Assist with the implementation of new billing procedures and software updates.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing and coding preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, specifically with commercial claims.
  • Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and insurance policies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex billing issues.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
