Welcome to MHealth Fairview We offer a variety of treatment options for teenagers facing mental health and substance use challenges. One of these options is the Adolescent Residential Program located in Maplewood, MN, providing 24/7 mental health and substance use services to individuals aged 12-19 in a residential setting.
The Substance Use Disorder Counselor plays a crucial role in the treatment team, offering psychotherapeutic interventions such as individual and family therapy, group counseling, case management, mental health and substance use assessment, crisis intervention, skill development, and patient advocacy. Joining a diverse treatment team, including nurses, psychiatric associates, chaplains, and other counseling professionals, this role involves day shift hours from 7am-3:30pm with alternating weekend shifts.

Responsibilities
- Case management and coordination for assigned patient cases
- Individual and family therapy sessions
- Daily group therapy for an average of 3 hours
- Active therapeutic intervention for an average of 2 hours daily
- Crisis management and intervention
- Developing treatment plans
- Collaborating with the team and healthcare providers
- Conducting questionnaires, screenings, and assessments
- Documenting all interventions, management, and events
- Contributing to program development and improvement
Qualifications
Education:
- Completion of 12 hours of co-occurring education
- Minimum of 30 hours coursework in adolescent development or equivalent
- 150 hours of supervised experience as an adolescent counselor
- Basic Life Support and First Aid certifications
Licensure:
- Holds a current LADC license
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a counseling-related field
- Pursuing independent licensure: LPCC, LISCW, LMFT, or LP
- 2-3 years of experience in mental health and/or substance use field
