Deputy Administrator for our Worker's Compensation Division, overseeing operations dedicated to protecting injured workers in Wisconsin.


The Worker's Compensation Division and its 70 employees are dedicated to making Wisconsin a better and safer place to live and work by ensuring that workers get the benefits for which they are eligible while protecting the rights of injured workers, employers, and insurers.

It is anticipated that this position will work a blend of remote (up to 60%) and in-office work at our downtown Madison location (201 E.

Washington Ave.). Additional flexibility may be available for remote work, depending on employee preference and business needs.

Our office is located near a wide variety of restaurants and food carts, live music and events, the farmer's market, B-cycle rentals, lakefront parks, the Capital City bike path, and multiple bus routes.

Salary Information:

Starting pay is between $105,200 and $118,518 per year, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 2% pay increase is anticipated on 6/30/2024. Use this Total Rewards Calculator to see an estimate of the total value of our competitive benefits package

The classification title for this position is DWD Manager (schedule 81, range 01). A two-year Career Executive trial period will be required. Current Career Executive employees in permanent status will serve a one-year probationary period. This position is not represented in a collective bargaining unit and is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment. Starting pay may vary for current state employees.

Eligibility to work in United States: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e. a US citizen or national or a lawful permanent resident) at the time of appointment.
