About:


Clora's client is in need of a Lab Technician / Scientist to be responsible for lab-based work that will support research and development of stem cells for use as a therapeutic approach to treat diseases of significant unmet need.

This client is currently using stem cells (iPS and hES) to generate active skeletal muscle and brown fat cells for delivery in vivo.

Exploratory activities are investigating alternative differentiation strategies to produce additional cell types.


This role requires the ability to be onsite in the lab Monday through Friday and occasionally includes weekend work as well.

The lab is located at Harvard Medical Center in Boston, MA USA.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the exploration of the improvements in efficiency of the culturing methods used to maintain and produce the stem cell lines and generate differentiated cells for therapeutic delivery.
  • Perform cell culture and molecular biology protocols for use in the model cell systems.
  • Contribute to other projects in the company through both discussion and troubleshooting, as well as labbased inquiry. Complete other related duties and ad hoc projects as required by position.
  • Bachelor's in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics or related field and 1+ years of laboratory experience with tissue culture
  • Previous laboratory experience with expertise in stem cell culture experience with muscle or adipose cells preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Must be an adaptable team player prepared to work in and embrace a teambased culture.
  • Proficient in molecular and cellbased methods including cell culture, ELISA, in vitro cell based assays, qPCR.
  • Ability to research techniques and to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Motivated to learn about the stem cell therapy industry.
