Avionics/Elec Tech II - Retrofit in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
Must be comfortable with working on live aircraft, maneuvering in tight spaces, and being at heights.
Education and Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED required. Four (4) years of experience in the avionics/electrical field, or two (2) years of aviation electronics schooling combined with two (2) years of related experience. A&P license preferred. FCC and NCATT certifications are a plus.
Position Purpose: Providing technical expertise in testing and troubleshooting aircraft systems to minimize schedule disruptions. Implementing process improvements to reduce costs while meeting deadlines without compromising safety or quality. Can fill in for the Senior Avionics/Electrical Technician to ensure safety and quality standards are upheld while adhering to work schedules.
Job Description- Demonstrates expertise in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting.
- Installs and tests electrical/avionics components on aircraft to ensure systems function according to specifications.
- Ensures quality and efficiency in installations and conducts timely repairs of malfunctioning systems.
- Effectively repairs or replaces defective components and wiring, following standard practices.
- Performs engineering changes and modifications as needed, conducts tests to evaluate performance, and ensures proper documentation of work performed.
- Complies with safety regulations, tool control programs, and FOD prevention measures.
- Adapts to unexpected schedule changes.
Additional Functions:
- In support of aircraft testing, may participate in flight tests as required.
Other Requirements:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting various aircraft systems, ability to read blueprints and schematic diagrams, excellent communication skills, and physical capabilities to work in different areas and lift weights up to 50 pounds.
