Position Summary

The multi-skilled Material Handler is more independent and self-reliant on moving incoming and outgoing product movement in accordance with supply chain and throughout the facility.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to
  • determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other
  • designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined
  • sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distributes
  • items to production areas.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets.
  • Navigate SAP material / inventory modules (confirming available stock, issued & confirming
  • TOs)
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company
  • standards.
  • Uses computer to enter records.
  • Drives material handling equipment to transport stored items.
  • Loads and unloads trailers of palletized and non-palletized product. Utilizes manual and
  • automated material handling equipment.
  • Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe
  • housekeeping and personal protection.
  • Complies with environmental regulations when using, dispensing, or handling hazardous and
  • non-hazardous materials and wastes.
  • May perform other duties as required.
  • Contributes to division results and performance
  • Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations

Position Requirements

  1. FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.


  2. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience including material handling
  • Candidate must able to communicate effectively to team members and management staff.
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Previous experience with ERP system, SAP experience a plus.
  • Able to work independently and problem solve
