About the Role

Are you enthusiastic about spearheading operational excellence in a dynamic and entrepreneurial setting? Do you crave the chance to unleash your creativity in streamlining processes? We are seeking an ALMM Shop Lead Technician to join our quest in providing contractors with the necessary PPE.

As a Shop Lead Technician at Vorto, you will be pivotal in overseeing workshop operations and leading a team of technicians in servicing and maintaining a wide array of equipment within the transportation sector.

Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring smooth shop operations and delivering top-notch services across various transportation lanes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily shop activities, including task delegation and resource management for technicians servicing equipment in different transportation lanes.
  • Oversee the inspection, repair, and maintenance of various transportation equipment, with a focus on safety and service excellence.
  • Manage parts and supplies inventory levels, collaborating with procurement teams to uphold optimal stock levels for servicing diverse transportation lanes.
  • Provide training and support to technicians to enhance their skills, tackle technical issues, and promote a culture of continuous enhancement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize shop operations, cater to customer needs, and enhance efficiency in servicing various transportation lanes.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and compliance with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • Preferably hold a bachelor's degree in business administration, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in trailer repair/maintenance, diesel mechanics, automotive service, or a relevant industry.

Abundant experience in equipment maintenance within the transportation sector, demonstrating a successful track record in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

  • Strong organizational skills to efficiently manage time and resources for handling multiple transportation lanes.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities to motivate technicians, foster collaboration, and boost shop performance.
  • Problem-solving skills and technical expertise to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and implement effective solutions across diverse transportation lanes.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining records and documentation for service quality and compliance adherence.
  • Hold relevant certifications or training in equipment maintenance, shop management, or related fields within the transportation industry.
  • Demonstrated success in leadership and management in a similar role.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills for team management and motivation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges and drive performance enhancements.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Compensation: $45-50/hrBenefits
