Working Conditions

This position reports to the CCC Magalia Fire Center located at 6640 Steiffer Road, Magalia, CA.

Physical requirements for this job are demanding: Involves lifting objects weighing 50 lbs or more, often combined with pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, squatting, carrying, kneeling, twisting, and reaching at or above shoulder level. It includes standing and walking for extended periods, irregular work surfaces, hiking difficult terrain, and may require working extended hours and in remote areas as a Crew Supervisor on a Type I Fire Crew.

Special Requirements

  • Commercial Driver License – Evidence of a Commercial Class C license with a Passenger Transport Vehicle special endorsement, or equivalent, from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
  • Pre-employment Drug Test – Pass a urine drug test. Applicants must pass a drug test in line with regulations.
  • Background Investigation – Fingerprinting and successful pass of a Criminal Offender Record Information check by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
  • Medical Exam – A medical clearance examination is mandatory.
  • Grooming Standards – Must comply with Butte Fire Center grooming standards.

Note-Candidates will be required to pass the following training upon appointment

CalFire Type I Fire Training Program- Successful completion of the CalFire Type I 80-hour Fire training program is required. This includes a strenuous physical fitness section.
