We are expanding and are looking for experienced concrete labors to join our Rochester Team ECS offers a competitive salary, benefits and growth opportunities

The Concrete Laborer will perform many tasks that require physical labor on construction sites in all types of weather. This position will also operate small power tools such as drills, saws, hammers, grinders, etc. Other functions included are cleaning and preparing jobsites, moving, and placing concrete forms, and miscellaneous assistance to other crew members such as finishers, carpenters, and foremen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, building, and positioning of forms for pouring concrete.
  • Grade dirt and level earth to grade specifications using rakes, shovels, and other tools as needed.
  • Help maintain a clean jobsite by picking up tools, materials, and trash.
  • Understand project information and identify obstacles and opportunities for each phase of work. Work with supervisor to overcome obstacles.
  • Ensuring project execution goals are met for responsible portion of work.
  • Select the correct equipment, materials, and tools for the job and operate in a safe manner.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of work performed.
  • Understand and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or coworkers.
Requirements:

Education/Experience

  • 0-6 Months of experience in a similar position/industry preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with power tools.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Knowledge of concrete-related equipment and sound demonstrated use.
  • Good teamwork and collaboration effort.
  • Strong problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and follow-through ability

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds on a frequent basis and up to one-hundred pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching is required on a daily basis. A full range of physical motion is required in order to operate manual and electrically-powered tools, sprayers, and construction-related equipment. The ability to move throughout the building, including climbing stairs and to work at heights from ladders or scaffolding, in order to perform construction-related work is required.
