NP for General Adult-Psych at Bon Secours Hospital

We are looking for a skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who will be responsible for providing advanced primary nursing services tailored to specific age groups, including health education, mental health care, addiction treatment, and management of communicable diseases through diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborating with physicians and healthcare practitioners to ensure patients receive appropriate and well-coordinated care.
- Recording, reviewing, and interpreting medical and social history.
- Requesting and evaluating diagnostic studies based on protocols.
- Obtaining materials for laboratory analysis and conducting selected procedures.
- Implementing treatment plans following clinical evaluation.
- Interviewing and examining patients at appropriate intervals.
- Administering immunizations and medications.
- Utilizing specialized software for data entry, retrieval, and report preparation.
- Prescribing medications in line with hospital procedures and regulations.
- Educating patients and staff on Medication Assisted Treatment and Harm Reduction Models.
- Performing assigned duties effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: Preferably professional nursing experience.
Education: Must hold a Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Licenses / Certifications: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate, valid license, current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse, and current certification as a Nurse Practitioner with prescribing privileges.
Other:
Individuals in this role should be prepared to handle human blood and potentially infectious materials. Universal precautions, proper equipment, and infection control policies are crucial.
