Job Functions:

Job SummaryThis HSE coordinator position is responsible for supporting the development of EHS policies and programs, advising and instructing on various safety-related topics, conducting risk assessments, and enforcing preventative measures. They review existing policies and measures, organize OHS training, inspect premises and work activities, investigate incidents, and prepare reports on occurrences. Their role also includes identifying hazards, ensuring compliance with legislation, and promoting a culture of health and safety in the workplace.Job Functions (Essential)
  1. Support the development of EHS policies and programs
  2. Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (PPE, operation of machinery, job site safety, risk identification, etc.)
  3. Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
  4. Review existing policies and measures and update accordingly
  5. Initiate and organize EHS training of employees
  6. Inspect job sites and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment, identify safety concerns)
  7. Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
  8. Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
  9. Record and investigate incidents to determine root causes and preventative measures
  10. Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
  11. Manage field service PPE program and audit team member equipment
  12. Ability to collaborate with supplier and customer HSE personnel
  13. Organize team member required trainings and certifications
    • OSHA
    • NFPA
    • High Voltage Certifications
    • LOTO
  14. Conduct routine environmental assessments of sites and provide detailed reports and recommendations for improvements or corrective actions.
  15. Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
  16. Performs special projects as required

Qualifications:

Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Required:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration, Health Safety or Engineering and 5 years of experience in safety, HSE; or 9 years of safety, HSE experience.
  2. Excellent ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  3. Excellent knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA/NFPA) and procedures
  4. Excellent ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  5. Excellent ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  6. Excellent ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, also to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  7. Excellent ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and to prioritize accordingly
  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  9. Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, particularly Microsoft Office
  10. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  11. Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time domestically
