Job Title: Applications Developer – Student Intern Program

Department: Information Technologies

Reports To: IT Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly, Overtime eligible

SUMMARY

We are looking for a qualified Application Developer to design and code functional programs and applications. You will work as part of a team and individually with little supervision.

A great Application Developer has excellent knowledge of at least one programming language. They must be familiar with a variety of operating systems and platforms. The ideal candidate will also have an analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail.

The goal is to write "clean" and flawless code to produce fully functional software applications according to requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features
  • Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
  • Design creative prototypes according to specifications
  • Write high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines
  • Perform unit and integration testing before launch
  • Conduct functional and non-functional testing
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications
  • Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
  • Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code
  • Problem solving.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment (No food, trash, scrap parts, etc.)
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Education/Experience in designing and building applications
  • Education/Experience with Microsoft IIS web services using MVC and Visual Studio C# programming. SQL Server queries, JavaScript, and CSS experience preferred and familiar with the Git version control system.
  • In-depth education/ knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools
  • Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Great attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Pursuing BSc/BA in computer science or relevant field
  • Certified application developer is a plus
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and lead personnel to complete production requirements to service the customer.
  • Punctual and dependable, placing high priority on producing throughout scheduled hours and excellent attendance

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Working conditions are normal for an office setting within a manufacturing environment. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds.
  • Machinery environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, protective shoes/boots. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
  • Employees must demonstrate physical ability to work in a standing or sitting position, up to 8-12 hours per day.

This is a part-time position.
