Join us in shaping the future of naval warfare and together, we will safeguard the seas and empower navies worldwideThe Ultra Assurance function is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and fulfilment of Ultra's Quality Policy, which is to comply fully in the conduct of the This position requires an individual ready to assume responsibilities as a lead Quality Assurance Engineer.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for providing QE support on assigned programs. QE support and associated tasks are driven by contractual requirements and program management. This position requires a great deal of hands on interaction with manufacturing production personnel.

The selected QAE will need to be a self-motivator as this individual will work closely with Engineering, Procurement, and other cross-functional groups to drive the business and its suppliers to accomplish quality, cost and delivery goals.

The right candidate shall be collaborative, flexible, have a positive outlook and is an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer who will meet commitments.

Nationality Requirements Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.


Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
Primary support of 2nd shift manufacturing activities and flexible with regards to working hours from day to day or week to weekSupport of multiple programs and projects running simultaneouslyDevelop, maintain, present, & distribute quality metrics as it pertains to assigned programsDevelop part inspection plans for receiving inspectionPerform first article inspectionsPerform in-process inspectionsPerform final product inspections & lead customer source inspection (as required)

Perform internal/eternal ISO process auditsAttend Quality Management Meetings & Program Reviews (as required)Assist in developing/maintaining PFMEAs & control plans as it pertains to assigned programsAssist in continuous improvement activitiesLead effective corrective and preventative actionsReview and approve engineering change ordersInteract with DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency)Support the Material Review Board (MRB)Review/modify quality requirements for supplier purchase orders (as required)Manage supplier quality assurance as it pertains to assigned programsManage supplier and customer escapesPerform supplier source inspectionsRequired Skills:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in technical discipline or equivalent discipline5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must currently have or have the ability to to obtain a DoD issued Secret security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S.

citizensMust have prior experience working with Prime defense contractorsAbility to travel as needed, including internationally 5%Desired Skills:
Strong oral, written communication, and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated with strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skillsHighly adaptive, team player with the ability to drive continuous improvementsProficient with drawing interpretations and GD&TWilling to work independently and in cross-functional teamsWilling to update technical processes and/or proceduresProficient in Microsoft Office (knowledge of Access Database is a plus)

Must be willing to communicate with suppliers & customer in a professional mannerExperience working with Prime defense contractors & DoDPrevious Program Quality Assurance lead experienceSecret Security ClearanceIPC 610 IPC 620 certificationFamiliarity with MicroVu Inspection Equipment & CMMsExperience interacting with DCMAOracle
  • AGILE quality moduleKnowledgeable in GD&TSix Sigma Green Belt certificationExperience with Receiving Inspection activitiesWorking knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMSASQ CQA/CQE/CQM certificationsExtensive knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures and processes in a manufacturing production operationStrong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in teams with members from various disciplines.
