Systems Administration Design Engineer

CACI is seeking a skilled Systems Administration Design Engineer to join the team and contribute to projects related to the Range, Communications, and Network segments supporting the U.S. Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN).

The selected candidate will play a vital role in upgrading server, storage, and network systems for the U.S. Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN). You will utilize your expertise to tackle complex challenges and offer insights into computer network initiatives. Your responsibilities will involve researching, evaluating, and recommending innovative computer network equipment and technologies to enhance operations.


What You'll be Doing:

  • Design and implement changes to client systems in alignment with project objectives
  • Create system and network designs to define technical solutions and assess their impact
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, software, and test engineering teams
  • Maintain a strong relationship with client engineering staff
  • Generate estimates and informational support for logistics and engineering documentation
  • Handle patch management for mission-critical systems
  • Participate in proposal development and customer briefings
  • Assist with system installations and configurations
  • Contribute to troubleshooting and network architecture implementation
  • Assess risks and offer design recommendations
  • Communicate effectively with management on network-related issues


Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience
  • Expertise in VMware, Microsoft Server, NetApp Storage Systems, and Linux
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server administration, networking, and IT fundamentals
  • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple project tasks
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications such as Security+
  • Proficiency in Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project
