About the Role

The Supervisory Licensed Clinician (Supervisory Well-being Professional) will be accountable to the Program Manager and oversee a team of licensed clinicians (Field Child Well-Being Professionals), both remotely and in person. This role contributes to the mission and goals of the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Health Security.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise a team of licensed clinicians to ensure productivity, quality, customer service, and compliance with contractual and policy requirements.
  • Provide clinical direction to direct reports in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert to create recommendations for the care of children, collaborating with all stakeholders.
  • Guide in developing service plans for children with behavioral or mental health challenges.
  • Identify technical and training needs to escalate to the Program Manager.
  • Analyze tasks and work volumes to offer planning and recommendations on staffing, assignments, and various projects.
  • Audit work products from direct reports for thoroughness, appropriateness, and compliance.
  • Assist in establishing, implementing, and updating standard operating procedures and performance improvement plans, and support special projects as necessary.
  • Participate in meetings, as necessary, with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Travel to client sites and regularly monitor the activities of program staff.
  • Responsible for the continuous professional development of direct reports.

What we're looking for:

Key Skills:

  • Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or related social science discipline with a clinical training and experience requirement.
  • Independent and unrestricted license in social work, counseling, or related field.
  • 5+ years of post-licensure working experience in child development, culturally competent and trauma-centered care, and conducting evaluations in direct interaction with children and families.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Supervisory/Management/Lead role overseeing behavioral health staff.
  • Bilingual and bicultural: English and Spanish, and/or Haitian Creole, and/or French.
  • Strong crisis intervention clinical skills.
  • Commitment to person-centered and trauma-informed treatment strategies in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Experience working with immigrant youth, families, and underserved populations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; outstanding organizational abilities.
  • Strong judgment and leadership qualities.
  • Proficient in MS Office computer skills, including Excel, Word, Teams.

Key Knowledge:

  • Children's behavioral health diagnoses.
  • Evidence-based techniques for treating trauma, loss, and grief, and best practices in mental health triage.
  • Behavioral health needs of migrant and vulnerable populations.
  • Thorough understanding of monitoring QC Plan(s) and key performance indicators for performance monitoring and enhancement.
  • Development of standard operating procedures, protocols, and guidelines to meet operational needs.

Work Environment

This role involves frequent travel to CBP work sites and the TPG corporate office in Ashburn, VA. A dedicated workspace suitable for full video conferencing is essential for this remote role, enabling webinars and online discussions.

Work Schedule

  • This position operates on a 24x7x365 basis.
  • Due to the critical nature of this position, employees may be required to work extended hours, including evenings, on-call duties, and weekends to support time-sensitive services.
  • This role is deemed ESSENTIAL – Field Child Well-Being Professionals are expected to work during emergencies or crises.

Condition of employment

  • Maintain full licensure and supervisor license if necessary for the assigned state.
  • Complete rigorous culture and competency testing.
  • Undergo a Drug Test.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Hold a valid US Driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Security Clearance Requirements

  • Applicants selected will undergo a government background investigation.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Residency requirement - minimum 3 consecutive years in the last 5 years.
