Job Description:
- Develops and implements an approved orientation program emphasizing regulatory issues related to long-term care (LTC) and the core values and mission of Bethesda.
- Conducts General Orientation following Corporate guidelines integrating pertinent OSHA and Federal and State regulations.
- Fosters a culture of staff development by creating lesson plans, conducting in-service programs, and organizing necessary trainings.
- Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to promote teamwork and ensure quality care.
- Oversees infection prevention and control initiatives to maintain a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement activities aimed at enhancing resident care processes.
- Acts as an educational resource for staff, residents, and families, ensuring compliance with standards and protocols.
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing school with a preference for a BSN or related baccalaureate education.
- Current RN license in the respective state.
- Holds CPR/AED certification or willing to obtain it within six months of hire.
- Certification as a CPR instructor is advantageous.
- Specialized training in infection prevention and control is a prerequisite.
- Minimum five years of recent clinical nursing experience.
- Prior experience in long-term care and educational/supervisory roles.
- Proficient in time management, organizational skills, and computer applications including EMR.
- Demonstrates integrity, initiative, and effective communication abilities.
- Physically capable of handling the demands of the role and performing necessary tasks effectively.
- Exhibits critical thinking, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
- Shows a preference for understanding and meeting the needs of older adults.
