The ideal candidate should:

  • Demonstrate necessary knowledge and skills to interact with patients within the assigned unit's age groups.
  • Possess an understanding of growth and development principles across different life stages.
  • Have zero to two years of experience, with a preference for a BSN.
  • Establish positive relationships with various stakeholders and handle complex environments effectively.
  • Showcase good clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities.
  • Display mobility and manual dexterity for patient care tasks.

Licenses, Certifications, and Requirements:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • UPMC-preferred national certification is a bonus.
  • Current RN licensure in the facility's state or a compact licensure agreement state.
  • Completion of licensure within 120 days for graduate nurses.
