JOB SUMMARY:
  • The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the direction of an RN to provide direct patient care.
  • As a member of the Patient Care Team, the LPN is trained to perform a wide range of essential patient services, including medication/intravenous administration.
  • The LPN performs age-specific duties to assist in patient care under the guidance of an RN.
EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current LPN license in the State of Ohio
EXPERIENCE:
  • Orientation program is provided
  • Computer literacy
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
  • Current nursing license in the State of Ohio, BLS, and any other unit-specific certification requirements
  • Preferably hold national certification in clinical specialty or leadership within 6 months of eligibility
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur
  • General office environment with moderate noise levels
  • Potential exposure to infectious organisms
  • May have periods of constant interruptions
  • Prolonged periods of working alone may occur
