Medical Scheduler

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries, redirecting calls or taking messages as necessary.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain appointment calendars for healthcare providers.
  • Verify patients' insurance coverage and collect necessary information for billing purposes.
  • Update and maintain patient records in electronic medical records (EMR) system accurately.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and provide necessary assistance.
  • Handle medical records requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with billing and coding tasks as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
