Job Description:

Position Summary:
This position is accountable for the efficient, ethical, and legal compounding and dispensing of prescription pharmaceuticals. The role involves providing guidance to customers on pharmaceutical use and storage, managing stock levels, overseeing pharmacy technicians as required, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process prescription and refill requests accurately and promptly, maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately, supervise product retrieval, counting, packaging, and labeling.
  • Offer medication counsel to customers on prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, perform cycle counts, and ensure proper storage of products.
  • Check and validate received orders, ensuring proper storage and handling of all items.
  • Handle outdated or damaged products according to company guidelines.
  • Maintain pharmacy records, including customer profiles, insurance forms, inventories, and control records.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Communicate any concerns to the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Keep the department clean, well-stocked, and compliant with Company standards.
  • Implement pharmacy programs and services as required.
  • Stay updated on legal regulations, industry trends, and best practices in Pharmacy.
  • Uphold company service standards and loyalty programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or related field; Doctorate degree in Pharmacy preferred.
  • Three years of experience in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Pharmacy License in good standing in the operating state.
  • Immunization Certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in HIPAA regulations, pharmacy laws, and guidelines.
  • Strong communication, customer service, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to work hands-on.
  • Completion of required continuing education hours and maintenance of Pharmacy License.
