Summary

Under administrative direction, provides assistance in developing, maintaining, and analyzing information and information systems for decisions based on key findings of research initiatives. This function involves considerable interaction and communication with management of units throughout the university, external agencies, and public and private sector representatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs, coordinates, and conducts statistical analyses and research activities related to the University's retention initiatives and interventions.
  • Creates and maintains necessary databases utilizing various computer programming languages or user-oriented software, such as SPSS or R. Utilizes micro-computer programs, such as Excel, Access, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint.
  • May perform or assist in the delivery of presentations, write articles and technical reports related to the University's retention initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field AND three years of experience in research, information analysis or program evaluation; OR,
  • Master's degree in a related field AND one year of experience in research, information analysis or program evaluation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of research design, methodologies, and statistics.
  • Knowledge of data collection and analysis methods, techniques, procedures.
  • Knowledge of statistical and financial tools.
  • Skill in effective communication, both written and verbal.
  • Skill in data processing systems and applications.
  • Skill in preparing and summarizing data for management reports and policy decisions.
