Job Description: Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity

Company: Providence Health & Services

The Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring continuous improvement in clinical and service quality outcomes, patient safety, and regulatory compliance within the organization. They oversee the implementation and maintenance of systems to support accurate documentation, quality improvement, and risk prevention, ultimately optimizing reimbursement and health outcomes.

  • Lead Clinical Documentation Integrity Program, including auditing, training, and compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of coding and documentation guidelines and ensure staff are informed
  • Develop and implement action plans for continuous improvement based on reports analysis
  • Provide education to physicians and staff on documentation improvement and billing guidelines
  • Oversee budget requirements, legal protection of data, and regulatory readiness
  • Manage staff competency, performance evaluations, and training

Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Nursing

Washington Registered Nurse License

Current CCDS certificate (preferred)

5 years of Clinical nursing experience, with 2 years in Leadership

Knowledge of Medicare, disease pathophysiology, and MS-DRG classification

Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
