Under general supervision, and in collaboration with physician colleagues, responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with sleep disorders in ambulatory setting.

Provides continuity of patient care by facilitating and coordinating communication between the health care team, patient and patient's family. Coordinates care to ensure quality, effective care and patient safety.

In clinical collaboration with the attending physician, provides day to day organizational and clinical direction and leadership of the healthcare team.

Participates in performance improvement activities aimed at improving clinical outcomes and minimizing variation.

Participates in and leads quality assurance activities (i.e., Master of Science degree in Nursing with completion of a Nurse Practitioner program; Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served.

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.

• Demonstrates highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with patient families, departmental units, medical and nursing staff on all essential matters
• Maintains updated mandatory training
