JOB LOCATION:
Duke GI Clinic of Durham – 249 N Carolina 54, Durham, NC

$5,000 Commitment Bonus Eligible | Paid out in 2 equal installments over 12 months in 6-month increments (6 months and 12 months).

New hires who have not worked for Duke University Health System in the past 12 months are eligible for the sign-on bonus.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are in search of a Certified Medical Assistant to play a key role in patient care within the healthcare team.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct patient intake including vital signs and clinical information
  • Take telephone messages, follow clinic protocols, and communicate with providers
  • Prepare orders for provider review and signature
  • Administer lab procedures as per physician's orders
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications and medical equipment
  • Assist as needed in the clinic to support patients and providers

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program backed by CAAHEP or ABHES is preferred. Must have high school diploma or GED, certification by recognized bodies, and BLS certification.


JOB HOURS:
This position entails day shifts.
