The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks applicants for a full-time (12 months) tenure-track/tenured faculty position in the Division of Restorative and Prosthodontics at the rank of assistant/associate /professor to serve as the Director of Prosthodontics with a strong commitment to dental education, scholarship, and service. Tenure-track/tenured appointments require candidates to possess an established record of research, scholarly works, teaching excellence, and professional service.

Core responsibilities will include didactic, clinical instruction and curriculum development; mentoring doctoral students; and participation in college, university, and community service. Candidates must demonstrate a passion for Prosthodontics and dental education. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to contribute to and participate in a humanistic and inclusive environment of learning and discovery. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Performance Objectives

  • Promote evidence-based teaching skills in advanced prosthodontics education setting, proficiency in prosthodontics, and strong track record of scholarly activity
  • Demonstrate a passion for graduate student education
  • Apply advanced technology to enhance teaching and learning
  • Provide interdisciplinary mentoring to graduate students
  • Demonstrate collaboration between college divisions
  • Oversee graduate prosthodontic education and sustain a viable graduate clinic program

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: Qualified candidates must possess a D.D.S./D.M.D. degree, or equivalent, have completed a CODA-accredited graduate program in Prosthodontics, and be eligible for or Board Certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Prosthodontics. The candidate must be eligible for and have active Ohio Board of Dental Practice licensure by the position start date.

Candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to create an environment that promotes collegiality, collaboration, and cultural diversity among members of various educational, research, and service-related communities. A willingness to serve as a role model and advocate for professionalism and high ethical standards in a health science educational setting is essential.
