A Day in the Life:

The Respiratory Therapy Supervisor directs daily department operations under the Administrator, Respiratory Director, and attending physician(s) to ensure top-quality care. They oversee respiratory therapist activities in compliance with standards and regulations, and in the absence of the Director, ensure adherence to organizational policies.

Respiratory Therapist Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive supervision of respiratory services in adherence to regulatory standards to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Actively promote the organization's mission and uphold its core values within the respiratory department
  • Effectively coordinate and oversee daily respiratory care provided by certified therapists, ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • Collaborate seamlessly with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident care outcomes
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory compliance standards and maintain readiness for audits and inspections
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach in promptly addressing and resolving complaints and concerns
  • Contribute to meeting staffing requirements by assisting in recruitment efforts
  • Identify education and training needs within the respiratory team
  • Execute administrative duties with precision and timeliness to uphold operational efficiency
  • Maintain professional licensure and stay abreast of industry developments through continuous education
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Requires an unencumbered Kentucky Respiratory Therapy license
  • Associate's Degree in Cardiopulmonary Services or Respiratory Care from an accredited program
  • Active NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist certification
  • Minimum 2 years of direct resident care in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred, with supervisory/management experience
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Broad knowledge of respiratory standards of practice and ability to impart such knowledge
  • Must possess clinical, supervisory, and communication skills to maintain high-quality care delivery.
  • Ability to function independently with flexibility, integrity, and compassion
  • Effective interaction with individuals from diverse backgrounds and in various states of crises

2nd Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM / 36 hours per week
