Job Summary
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in providing care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for IDD patients by providing physical therapy services in their homes and dayhabs. This position requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work independently. If you are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with IDD, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized physical therapy assessments and treatments for patients with IDD in their homes.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and functional abilities.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, caregivers, and families to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility aids, and adaptive techniques.
- Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document patient records accurately.
- Current state licensing for physical therapy assistance required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to create a positive, nurturing environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
- The ability to work well and make decisions in a high-stress environment
