The role of Strategic Medicaid Proposal Writers is crucial in enhancing the quality of our RFP responses, expanding scopes of work, and boosting the effectiveness of our sales team. These writers consistently aim to enhance their understanding of GHSC, offered services, and industry best practices to deliver strategic, compliant, and well-thought-out responses to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs. They establish robust working relationships with GHSC's client managers, fellow proposal writers, solution consultants, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help achieve our objectives of acquiring, expanding, and retaining business.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Handle writing tasks of varied lengths and complexity, covering various subjects across proposals and scope expansions in existing client contracts
  • Collaborate with Client Managers, fellow writers, solution consultants, and SMEs to draft and finalize proposal responses and amendments in current contracts to introduce new scopes of work
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to contribute new content centered on client solutions emphasizing the company's distinctiveness, innovation, and strategies
  • Participate actively in kickoff and status meetings throughout the proposal process as per defined timelines
  • Create proposal responses aligned with internal quality standards, bid guidance, and meeting proposal requirements in a compelling and compliant manner
  • Ensure proposal responses maintain a consistent brand voice, style, tone, and utilize commonly accepted Medicaid terms
  • Establish relationships with clients & carriers and gain a comprehensive understanding of all aspects related to them
  • Act as a liaison across internal departments such as operations, marketing, customer service, IT, and accounting to share program details and comprehend the connections between departments
  • Offer advice on underwriting and marketing options to Client Executives/Program Managers and clients/carriers
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to communicate the client's program effectively to their employees, members, or stakeholders

Requirements:

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant background
  • Minimum five years of experience in proposal writing
  • Five or more years of experience in Medicaid
