JOB TITLE: Sales Assistant

COMPANY: Builders FirstSource

PURPOSE

As a Sales Assistant, you'll support the Outside Sales team in promoting and selling building products and services to businesses and individuals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify potential customers through various sources
  • Accompany Outside Sales Representative to meet with customers and secure orders
  • Showcase products and highlight key features
  • Provide pricing information and prepare sales contracts
  • Track stock levels and manage customer data
  • Resolve customer issues and attend trade shows

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • One year certificate from college or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in sales, preferably in the building materials industry

COMPETENCIES

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to thrive in a sales environment and meet targets
  • Strong team player with market knowledge
  • Effective presentation and math skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

  • Combination of office and outdoor work
  • Ability to lift and carry varying weights
  • Travel requirement of up to 20%
