Behavior Technician Role:

Behavior Technicians (BTs) play a crucial role in a child's therapy team, potentially altering the course of a child's life for the better. They provide personalized, transformational treatment designed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to clients. Little Leaves BTs undergo comprehensive training. We understand the importance of our work and thus offer thorough training and support to our team members. Our aim is for every employee to feel prepared and confident before working with clients.

This position is center-based, ensuring supervisors and colleagues work together to assist clients. Whenever you need guidance, have questions, or require support, your team will be there for you.

BT/RBT Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting rates between $20-25/hour, depending on ABA-specific experience assessed during the initial interview
  • Full-time position: All BTs are guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours of work per week, with most working 35-40 hours weekly.

BT/RBT Responsibilities:

  • Make a significant impact on a child's life by offering top-quality 1:1 ABA therapy to client(s) with autism spectrum disorder
  • Participate in regular team meetings and paid training sessions
  • Implement feedback provided by supervisors
  • Display energy, creativity, and imagination
  • Support client(s) 1:1 to aid learning and group play
  • Maintain regular communication with the child's treatment team
  • Efficiently collect session data
  • Develop program materials for individual clients as necessary
  • Contribute positively to the center's community
  • Be punctual and reliable

Desired Qualifications:

  • Display commitment and enthusiasm for assisting children and families
  • Be dependable, efficient, and possess a strong work ethic
  • Bachelors or Associates degree (or equivalent credit hours) in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, or related field
  • Prior experience with special needs children, like those with autism or developmental delays, is highly preferred
  • Hold a Registered Behavior Technician credential or commit to obtaining one within 90 days of hire, with a readiness to sit for the RBT exam (Little Leaves offers all training and supervision needed)
  • Ability to interact professionally with children, families, and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively as part of a therapy team
  • Demonstrate the capability to work independently, seeking help when necessary
  • Have strong attention to detail for data collection
  • Be organized, flexible, open to guidance, and willing to receive constructive feedback
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ensure client confidentiality
  • Show a track record of success in previous roles, supported by outstanding references
  • Comfortable with using technology

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling children up to 40 pounds, and meeting the physical demands of the job (featuring frequent sitting, standing, sitting on/getting up from the floor, kneeling, bending, and running with children)

Health and Safety Requirements:

  • Regular health screenings for all staff and clients
  • Frequent hand-washing and sanitation
  • Utilization of a "pod system" for clients and staff to minimize exposure risks
  • Option for mask-wearing by adults and clients
  • Limited building access
