Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review complex signal circuit designs and software
  • Create and test advanced software for signal systems
  • Perform design calculations for headway analysis, safe braking, and power draw
  • Assist in producing cost estimates for signal engineering projects
  • Write and evaluate technical proposals for signaling projects
  • Lead factory and field testing of signal systems
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in freight or transit signal system design
  • Familiarity with various railroad train control systems and communication systems
  • Hands-on experience with grade crossing warning systems
  • Proficiency in testing and troubleshooting on transit systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Thorough understanding of FRA, FTA, and AREMA regulations
