Job Summary

La Caada Unified School District is seeking substitute custodians. The chief responsibilities of a custodian include keeping assigned building areas clean, sanitary, safe and orderly.

The substitute custodian covers these responsibilities and performs other related duties as required for any permanent employee who may be absent.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Experience:

Six months of experience in cleaning and maintaining building areas, preferably in a school setting, or any combination of training and experience that would provide the desired knowledge and abilities.

Licenses:
Possession of a valid California Driver's License and the ability to qualify for District vehicle insurance coverage. Ability to obtain all required federal, state, and local licenses and/or certification as necessary for cleaning materials, equipment, etc.

• Once applications are screened, selected candidates will be contacted regarding a personal interview, which will take place at the District Office with an interview panel. Interviews will be scheduled during school hours on a weekday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Comments and Other Information

Work Calendar:
As needed, 8.0 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Work hours would be 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the morning shift, or 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for the evening shift. Stated work hours include a half hour of unpaid, duty-free lunch break. The location of service may be at any site within the District.

Compensation:
Placement on classified salary range 21 is dependent on experience as a custodian. The wage range is $ $24.22 per hour. Time is kept on a timesheet by calendar month. Paychecks are issued on the 10th of the following month.

Benefits:
This position is not eligible to participate in the District's benefits plans.
