Position Overview

The role of Adjunct Clinical Nursing Faculty involves instructing and supervising students in clinical and laboratory settings. Faculty members evaluate student performance, offer guidance and support, and keep up-to-date with current nursing practices and trends. These positions are part-time and are filled as needed depending on the College's requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for student success.
  • Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences based on program objectives.
  • Design and execute clinical and laboratory activities to enhance student learning.
  • Guide students in utilizing available educational resources effectively.
  • Participate in course team meetings to contribute to the academic program.
  • Supervise students during clinical practice, evaluate their performance, and provide necessary feedback.
  • Ensure students are proficient in nursing skills before applying them in patient care.
  • Grade student assignments and maintain accurate records of their progress.
  • Start classes on time and notify authorities promptly in case of absences.
  • Address student issues by reporting them to the Director of Nursing.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
  • Faculty schedules may vary each semester and could include evenings or weekends based on clinical agency availability.
  • Continuously enhance professional competence through development activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, faculty, administration, staff, and clinical personnel.
  • Undertake any other assigned duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
  • Two years of clinical experience as a licensed nurse.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Availability to work during evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in nursing at the postsecondary level.
