Position Purpose:
- Provides guidance and management oversight to the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repairs of the ECLWRF and related support systems.
- Prioritizes and approves work service requests, coordinates maintenance activities, and ensures operational compliance with regulations.
- Supervises a team of Shift leads and Operators, ensuring safety protocols and production targets are met.
- Assumes CPO duties when necessary, participates in an on-call rotation, and maintains regulatory compliance.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Chief Plant Operator and supervises a team of Shift leads and Operators.
- Performs operational and supervisory tasks, trains staff, and manages crew performance.
- Works with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment, oversees chemical quantities, and ensures proper documentation and scheduling.
- Conducts inspections, responds to emergencies, and collaborates on process optimization and safety initiatives.
Work Environment:
- Works in varying environmental conditions with exposure to noise, odors, chemicals, and machinery.
- Follows safety guidelines, wears appropriate PPE, and adheres to H&S Manual protocols.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirements: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Engineering, or Environmental Science.
- At least 10 years of experience in wastewater/water treatment operations, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Supervisory experience, knowledge of treatment processes, and water system operations.
- Understanding of advanced water treatment technologies and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to analyze data, make decisions, and utilize various technical tools and systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, CMMS, SCADA/DCS, and EAM systems.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Must obtain State Water Resources Control Board Grade IV in Wastewater Treatment within 18 months.
- Valid California Driver's license required.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires a range of physical abilities, including standing, walking, lifting, and vision capabilities.
- Technical dexterity needed for performing analytical procedures and equipment operations.
