Job Summary: The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for a passionate leader to join their team as Deputy Warden (Correctional Administrator II). Working under the guidance of the Complex Warden, the Deputy Warden will oversee a unit with 400 inmates or fewer within a facility. The ideal candidate should have a background in leading diverse teams, extensive administrative experience in managing inmate populations, and ensuring modern correctional practices are implemented.
Job Duties:
- Directs and supervises unit activities and staff
- Manages unit budget and expenditures
- Oversees inmate programs and operations
- Reviews and responds to reports on unit operations
- Monitors high-level matters in the institution
- Manages inmate-related issues
- Conducts security inspections
- Approves unit personnel actions
- Facilitates staff meetings
- Attends required trainings and meetings
- Performs other assigned duties
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge of laws, correctional management, inmate management, government agencies, and reporting practices
- Skills in written and verbal communication, leadership, time management, problem-solving
- Ability to adhere to rules, evaluate programs, and build relationships
Selective Preference(s): Previous experience as Associate Deputy Warden, Business management experience, and a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields.
Pre-Employment Requirements: TB test, background check, drug test, and medical examination.
If driving is required, must complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program.
