The Professional Division of Spherion Mid Ohio is excited to partner with a reputable company in Mansfield, Ohio, seeking a Metrology Lab Tech to join their 1st shift team. From day one, you'll be a permanent employee of this dynamic organization Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metrology Lab Tech with experience in a metal manufacturing facility or job shop environment. This role requires familiarity with testing metals and proficiency in using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). The ideal candidate will also have experience in thermal processing, microhardness testing, and Rockwell testing. Strong communication skills are essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct precise measurements and inspections using CMM to ensure metal products meet quality standards.
  • Perform thermal processing and microhardness testing on metal samples.
  • Utilize Rockwell Testers to assess the hardness of metals.
  • Document and report findings accurately, maintaining detailed records of all tests and inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized lab environment, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization efforts.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in a metal manufacturing facility or job shop environment is required.
  • Familiarity with testing metals and using CMM.
  • Experience in thermal processing and microhardness testing.
  • Proficiency with Rockwell Testers.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to lift and move materials as needed, adhering to safety guidelines.
