We are seeking a professional like you to join our Performance Chemical Division to support our Technical Service Oilfield team at the Houston, TX site. In this role you will provide technical support for our current Biocides and Standard Ingredients business line. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of chemistries from our development pipeline into our customers hands, with a primary focus on the key growth application area of oilfield chemicals, such as production and stimulation chemicals.

As a Technical Specialist, You Create Chemistry By...

Overseeing customer projects, conducting independent testing of chemicals in oilfield applications, and generating innovative solutions to support and grow business. This includes planning and executing tests in the laboratory.

Compiling and analyzing testing information, as well as planning additional tests to solve challenges while delivering engaging presentations to diverse audiences and effectively communicating externally.

Supporting product lines through field testing and product demonstrations at customer and field locations, such as bottle testing with BASF production chemicals.

Ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are met, individually and as a team, by incorporating safe work procedures and maintaining a safe laboratory environment.

Developing new laboratory evaluation methods, optimization, and validation of the new approach through error analysis (reproducibility, reliability, precision).

Interacting with Development, Technology, and Marketing to provide professional feedback on application specifications for development projects, specifically related to existing additives and chemistries.

Taking a lead in installing, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting specialized equipment, while also participating in recruiting support team for the Houston laboratory when needed.

Have a BS in chemistry or related scientific field.

Possess 6-8 years of laboratory experience or a masters degree with 3-5 years of laboratory experience, with expertise in at least one of the following areas: stimulation or production.

Have a solid working knowledge of oilfield laboratory techniques (e.g., rheology measurements, demulsification, fluid loss, corrosion, friction reduction, surface tension and foam testing).

Possess the ability to work in a team environment across multiple disciplines and cultures and safe working habits and follows good chemical hygiene practices.

Have an advanced troubleshooting ability in the laboratory setting or for equipment.

Are proficient to expert at using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Are highly motivated, detailed oriented and able to multi-task with strong organizational skills.

Possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills
