The Senior Consultant, through their ability to work independently and lead by example, will deliver subject matter expertise to enable OWC's positioning as the preferred global advisor in the renewables field. In this role the Senior Consultant will also work closely with cross-functional teams to foster and leverage capabilities across the company on a global scale. OWC undertake a crucial role enabling our clients to realise their renewable projects, for which the Senior Consultant's contribution will include providing technical leadership related to solar resource and energy for onshore renewables in the US. What you will be doing.

Provide technical leadership for all aspects of the solar resource and energy yield assessment function for the Onshore Renewables team in the US. Lead and develop OWC's solar resource and energy assessment methodology for the US market (pre-construction and operational) for bankable energy estimates for development-stage and operational PV projects. Develop and maintain internal tools used in energy and resource assessment. Work closely with the OWC teams in other departments and regions to leverage tools and resources, foster a collaborative work environment, and ensure harmonization of processes as appropriate. Support client outreach and business development efforts. Build and nurture client relationships, identify new business opportunities and leverage networks. Support client engagements for owners engineering, independent engineering, and technical due diligence for M&A. Attend client meetings and engage with clients and internal staff to develop creative solutions. Prioritize exceptional customer service to foster client relationships. Provide solar resource and energy yield estimates; contribute to report sections related to solar energy. Coordinate with subject matter experts and cross functional team members to compile and finalize reports, summarize and present key risks, results, and conclusions. Ensure all deliverables adhere to approved policies, procedures, and instructions. Lead and develop new processes and capabilities. Ensure all work meets or exceeds OWC standards and client expectations to maintain consistency in technical and commercial analysis. Provide senior review or final approval for the work product. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project deliverables are on time, within scope, and on budget. Prepare proposals relating to solar energy outlining the scope of work, resource requirements, budget, and schedule. Prepare complex proposals and/or contract negotiations including those with third-party suppliers. Conduct site visits. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain thought leadership through innovation, publications, conferences and professional community engagement. Provide training and mentoring to OWC staff. Support recruitment, training, and onboarding within specialist services. This position will support the OWC team that is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

What we are looking for.

Bachelors degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field. At least 6 years of post-graduate experience working in a renewables field focused on solar resource and energy assessment. Proficiency in PVsyst and similar software. Familiarity with commonly used satellite models for solar resource. Experience with graphical software packages, such as Autocad, ArcGIS, etc. Proficiency in programming / scripting languages such as VBA, R, Matlab, Python, etc.
