Position Summary

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a Dozer and other related equipment as necessary for daily operations. The dozer operator will perform daily pre- and post-inspection of equipment and working areas, and safely maintain work areas by ensuring these areas are equipped with adequate berms and roadways.

Responsibilities
  • Operates a dozer within the company guidelines and safety standards.
  • Participates in safety inspections, and plant safety programs, and follows company and MSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Constructs haul roads, prepares drill bench, levels shot material after blasting, and constructs drainage as needed.
  • Aides in loader production by breaking down surge piles and maintaining product piles as needed.
  • Performs pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and reports needed repairs to the supervisor.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, services mobile equipment, and is responsible for good housekeeping of equipment.
  • Maintains safe traffic flow throughout the site.
  • Operates other equipment such as loaders and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position.
  • Experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment and/or equipment used in processing plants.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of a dozer preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Able to work cooperatively with others toward a shared goal, contribute actively to the team efforts, and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team
  • Possess effective coordination and communication skills
  • Possess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge and skills
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work varying shifts as needed, outdoors, in varying weather conditions
  • Able to adhere to MSHA guidelines and plant safety rules and regulations
  • Able to ensure a safe work environment by prioritizing safety, then quality, followed by production

Salary Posting:

We are excited to share the base range for this position is $ $33.50, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
