Job Summary


The IT Desktop Specialist provides maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions.

Supporting on-site in our Pasadena location, this role is responsible for administration and internal support of the Company's PCs, printers, and related equipment.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user's satisfaction.
  • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
  • Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process firstin firstout based on priority
  • Offer your support on a variety of computer hardware and software issues by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems
  • Utilize and maintain helpdesk tracking software
  • Document internal procedures
  • Assist with onboarding of new users
  • Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment
  • Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
  • Report issues to the Service Desk for escalation
  • Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software
  • Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
  • Company phone system & cell phone support
  • Refining and automating regular processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes.
  • Assisting developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and supporting release deployment activities, at times after hours.
  • Assist in Dynamics GP Administration and Application support
  • Provide support for Cavallo SalesPad Desktop / SPS EDI
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field
  • 5 years of Desktop support or related experience
  • Microsoft Office 365 experience
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Excellent communication skills including active listening
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Microsoft SQL Server database maintenance and report writing
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques for designing and representing database structures.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP
