Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist with specialized experience in Hematology to join a high complexity laboratory in Miramar, FL. The ideal candidate will be licensed in the state of Florida and possess a strong background in conducting hematological tests, analyzing results, and maintaining quality assurance in a clinical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of hematological tests including complete blood counts (CBCs), blood smears, coagulation tests, and other specialized tests as required.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment related to hematology testing, ensuring accuracy and precision in test results.
  • Analyze test results, interpret findings, and generate accurate reports for healthcare providers.
  • Maintain meticulous records of laboratory procedures, test results, and quality control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and standards related to clinical laboratory practices.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff, healthcare professionals, and researchers as needed.
  • Participate in continuous education and training programs to stay updated on advancements in hematology and laboratory technology.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist license in the state of Florida, with a specialty in Hematology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, with a focus on hematology.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting laboratory equipment such as hematology analyzers, coagulation analyzers, and microscopy.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately interpret test results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and healthcare professionals.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality assurance and laboratory safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) by a nationally recognized accrediting agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
  • Experience working with laboratory information systems (LIS) and proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and reporting.
