We are looking for:

The Specialty Polymers GBU is in the Growth segment of Syensqo. Specialty Polymers has embarked on a JV partnership requiring a JV Business Controller and Analyst who will be responsible for the industrial (plant) control and forecasting and analysis of the JV profitability (business controlling).

This is a pivotal role designed to support the growth and success of this major partnership, providing the business teams with the tools and value-added analysis that will allow them to make the best business decisions. Additionally, a key player to ensure accurate financial information that will be provided to site managers (Syensqo and our partner) and ensure the proper treatment of costs under the JV agreement. The Controller will be responsible for the accurate reporting of the industrial performance of the JV, as well as providing detailed analyses and forecasts while working with the business leaders on value add.

We count on you for:

  • Serve as the controller for the JVCo, responsible for supporting the JV in managing, leading, and coordinating all aspects of financial operations across two sites and amongst various stakeholders and teams
  • Provide monthly performance analysis and report on JV performance to plan, forecast, and prior year, covering P&L, Balance Sheet, Working Capital, and Capex
  • Provide common reporting with clear visibility to all stakeholders
  • Coordinate the JV's Budget, Forecast, and Mid Term Plans (MTP) working closely across the JV leaders, JV partners, JV service providers
  • Serve as the Financial analysis point of contact for the JV
  • Work with Syensqo Back Office Accounting and Financial Services, ensuring timely and accurate closing of monthly financials for the JV and the JV partners following IFRS standards and agreed upon JV Contract Terms
You will bring:
  • 5 years or more of previous controlling experience
  • Strong SAP and Gsheets/Excel skills
  • Good interpersonal skills being comfortable working with non-finance people
  • Good communicator with financial and non-financial collaborators
  • Capacity to anticipate future trends and developments
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful information for business teams
  • Strong expertise in stakeholder management
You will get:
  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $119,000 to $149,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
