Responsibilities:

  • Conduct admission and continued stay reviews to ensure clinical needs are met and reduce financial risk.
  • Participate in initiatives to enhance care delivery and utilization, entering authorizations daily.
  • Champion documentation, communication, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Collaborate with the Physician to facilitate patient communication, Treatment Team planning, and discharge planning.
  • Establish a connection between Managed Care Organization, Treatment Team objectives, and financial aspects of care.

Qualifications:

  • Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, familiarity with standards like Joint Commission, CMS, and Tricare. Proficiency in computer skills and basic case management/utilization review principles.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience in the mental health field and utilization review.
  • Licensure/Certification: Preference for LVN, RN, LPC, or LMSW.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of experience in a mental health setting, ideally with Case Management/Utilization Review experience and discharge scheduling.
  • Physical Requirements: Correctable vision and hearing, ability to occasionally lift 25 pounds, good at recording and reading medical records, and spending time standing, walking, and sitting as specified.
