We are currently in search of a **Senior Software Engineer** to join the Azure Networking team. This role demands strong communication and collaboration skills, along with substantial experience in distributed system design, large-scale service development, and service analytics.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise, validate your work within the rapidly expanding Azure cloud platform, and experience a profound sense of achievement.

We are also interested in developers with an analytical mindset to optimize the service and achieve results through service analytics. You will be empowered to devise innovative solutions to various challenges, enhancing platform services to accelerate and secure the code deployment process. Multiple positions are currently open within this team.


**Responsibilities**

- Collaborate with stakeholders to define user requirements for scenarios.
- Identify dependencies and develop design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms.
- Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to enhance performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and ROI.
- Utilize product feature expertise to collaborate with stakeholders and drive project plans, release plans, and work items for a workgroup.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), guide other engineers, monitor systems/products/services for issues, and restore functionality in case of problems.
- Proactively seek new knowledge, adapt to trends and technical solutions, and enhance product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance.

**Qualifications**

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in various languages.
- 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems.

**Additional Requirements**
- Ability to meet security screening requirements as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience, OR Master's Degree with 6+ years of experience.
- Ability to mentor junior developers and lead projects technically.
- Experience in building platform services for deployment, orchestration, and change management.
- Knowledge in areas such as L2-L3 protocols, network management, Yang modeling, and RPC frameworks.
- Knowledge of UNIX or Linux.

**Software Engineering IC** - Salary range for this role is competitive across the U.S., with variations in certain locations.
