Kleinfelder is looking for a skilled Stormwater Senior Engineer / Project Manager for the New England Area. The role involves planning and designing stormwater management projects, incorporating gray and green infrastructure best practices, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, flood mitigation, NPDES permit compliance, and climate and coastal resiliency initiatives. As a key member of our resourceful water team and climate resilience practice group, you will lead stormwater planning and design tasks for various clients. Candidates should possess expertise in gray and green infrastructure, stormwater management, NPDES compliance, and hydrologic/hydraulic analyses. Experience in site design, permitting, and pursuing grant opportunities is advantageous. This position is flexible based on experience, welcoming applicants from technical or managerial backgrounds.

While remote work is possible, the role emphasizes providing leadership and guidance to our team. Collaboration and engagement are crucial for our interdisciplinary projects spanning different areas such as Water, Transportation, Site, and Climate Change Resiliency.

Operating in the New England Area, the Water Team specializes in engineering services for stormwater, water, and wastewater infrastructure projects for both public and private sector clients. Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects, lead engineering efforts, and serve as the primary stormwater technical contact for clients, overseeing various projects for public and private entities.
  • Conduct hydrologic/hydraulic analyses for stormwater management and resiliency projects.
  • Lead stormwater planning and design, including culvert design, green stormwater infrastructure, and other BMPs for water quality and flood reduction.
    • Prepare essential documentation like SWMPs, Stormwater Management Reports, and permitting documents.
    • Utilize AutoCAD/Civil-3D for plans and details preparation.
    • Develop specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, and assist in construction.
  • Collaborate with professionals in the Water Teams and Climate Resilience Practice Group on projects related to coastal hazard management and climate resilience.
  • Manage projects by developing proposals, scheduling tasks, managing budgets, and fostering effective communication within teams and with clients.
  • Mentor junior staff and coordinate design efforts to ensure project accuracy.
  • Enhance Kleinfelder's visibility through participation in professional organizations and events.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on drainage and stormwater design.
  • Strong knowledge of green infrastructure, stormwater management, and climate change adaptation.
  • Professional registration
  • Demonstrated experience in leading tasks/projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in proposal development and review.
  • Client-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and service.
  • Emotional intelligence.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Certifications: Professional Engineering licensure required. P.E. licensure in a New England state preferred. PMP or CFM certification is advantageous.
