ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

MAINTENANCE

POSITION(S):

Assistant Engineer
  • Beacon
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a boiler operator's license or to obtain and maintain same within sixty (60) days
  • Able to perform duties assigned to the position
  • Good attendance and punctuality
  • High School Diploma
DUTIES:
  • Responsible for general custodial work
  • Create and implement the work schedules for extra activities
  • Responsible for general heating and the safe operation of all equipment on their shift
  • Report all major repairs to the engineer
  • Responsible for minor electrical failures, such as lights and fuses which occur on their shift
  • Responsible for checking fire hazards and proper storage of combustible material
  • Responsible for proper use of all equipment and materials by personnel under their direction
  • Responsible for the ordering of custodial supplies and assuring that an adequate supply is kept on hand
  • Responsible for the security of the building in case of emergency on their shift
  • Work with custodians during the summer cleaning
  • Other duties as assigned by the engineer or building principal
RESPONSIBLE TO:

Building Principal, Engineer, and Head Utility

WORK SCHEDULE:

Forty hours per week, 52 weeks per year, day shift

SALARY:

According to AFSCME LOCAL 849 Master Agreement
